Highlights of the week. We have launched the Basketball Club, we received the visits of two important US universities, our teachers have organized the first Board Game Day. A few highlights from last week are reported hereafter, with details of the upcoming initiatives during next weeks.
University Visits. Two very successful presentations were given last week from University of California, Davis and Rutgers University (New Jersey). Their Admission Directors have shared with students and parents some insights on the requirements, skills and results needed to apply and succeed to these top American Universities.
Next week Hanova will host four more universities:

Hanova Basketball Club. The Basketball Club, is now training regularly on Tuesdays (after school) and Saturdays (in the morning). This regular athletic activity will open soon to all school students, with selection and practice dates as informed by our sports teachers, Mr. Lynn (anthony.lynn@his-hanova.com) and Mr. Chao (chris.chao@his-xian.com), who are also ensuring the supervision and coaching.
Information Sessions. Again, lookout to the logistics and dates of future communications events. Primary parents, please book your appointments with Homeroom teachers during the upcoming PYP Parent Conference, scheduled for 19th and 20th November.
Secondary parents, on 4th November there will be another MYP Information Session on Assessment and the use of Managebac. Our DP students will receive their first Interim Report on 30th October.
Parents Club and Volunteers. Parents, we know that the school relies on you all. We then plan to involve you more into our activities, for the benefits of our school and most importantly of our students. We will then welcome your help for some initiatives during the school year.
As a first step, would you like to join the fun and educational activities during Wednesday ECA’s that your children enjoy? If yes, we are considering starting our first club for parents – to be held every Wednesday from 3:40 to 4:30, in parallel to the normal ECA’s. There is a minimum of 4 members for this club, so if you are interested in joining, please contact Mr. Gallerno (richard.gallerno@his-xian.com) who will provide you more details.
