Dear Parents and friends,

ACAMIS Athletics Event. From the 11th to the 13th of May students from Hanova Secondary School participated in the ACAMIS track and field events competition in Beijing, hosted by the International School of Beijing. A total of 13 students went each participating in their own set of events, after few weeks of training and preparation.

For the Boys (10 – 14) relay Hanova managed to get second place, winning silver medals with Dido, Yiyo, William, and Tristan. Another medal for our school was a bronze medal for the under 15 boys, by Tommy Brown in Year 7.

This was the first official participation of Hanova as a new member of ACAMIS (the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools) and our students have shown, enthusiasm, commitment and energy in all their efforts to win.

Well done to all and to the accompanying teachers, Mrs. Trull and Mr. Lynn. Overall they all had a wonderful weekend and will again prepare to participate next year.

For more information, please contact our Athletic Director ( anthony.lynn@his-xian.com ).

Year 6 Exhibition. Our Year 6 students are currently preparing their Exhibition, the culminating event in the final year of the PYP. The Exhibition is a student led investigation into an issue in which the students have a significant interest.  The purpose of the Exhibition includes the following:

  • Encourage students to engage in an in-depth study while working within a group situation.
  • Give students the opportunity to demonstrate independence and responsibility for their own learning.
  • Provide students with an opportunity to explore multiple perspectives.
  • Demonstrate how students can take action as a result of their learning.
  • Celebrate the transition of learners from Primary to Secondary school.

The students will be presenting their work to the Hanova School Community on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June. Please join them to celebrate their learning achievements.
