Hanova’s new family orientation

Dear Parents and friends

New family orientation - written by Ms Amy Hou, MYP Coordinator. On August 12th, 2022, Hanova welcomed all new families for the 2022-2023 academic year.

In the Secondary School, Mr. Aristipo Rodriguez gave an orientation for new families. All new students and parents were given the opportunity to meet and talk to their Homeroom Teachers. We also organized a tour for them in the Secondary School building.

We sincerely hope all of our new students and parents will enjoy learning in Hanova!

MYP Personal Projects - written by Ms Amy Hou, MYP Coordinator. On August 1st, 2022, the IB published the MYP Personal Project Results for the June 2022 Candidates.

We are really proud to share with you that our candidates have achieved excellent results in the MYP Personal Project. Among Year 11 students, there are 2 students who achieved “7” for their Personal Project. Compared with the World-Wide Average Grade which is 4.23, our candidates have achieved an average grade of 5.86.

Congratulations to all our Candidates!

Introducing the new Hawks logo! - written by Mr Paul Robinson, Director of Sports. Last year saw a period of rebranding of the school sports teams as we moved into our new sports facility. Students and staff voted on the “Hanova Hawks” to be our sports team name.

During the summer work has been done on the designing of the new logo(s) which will appear on our team uniforms for the coming season and beyond.

We are currently working towards creating a relationship with a kit supplier that works with International Schools around China in order to have unique and bespoke kits made which will really help create a sense of identity, belonging and pride to our Hanova Hawks.

Orchestra (Ensembles) Recruitment Announcement - written by Ms Krystal Jiang, MYP Music.  Students in the Orchestra (Ensembles) will get the experience of working together in a small/big ensemble, which builds musicianship and orchestral skills. Students will improve the aesthetic awareness and the study of music as well as providing entertainment.

In addition to orchestras, we also have other groups, such as pop bands, folk bands, solos, quartets, trios and many other forms. The orchestra (ensembles) will practice every Thursday after school. For more details, please contact Ms. Jiang (krystal.jiang@his-xian.com) or the student leaders (Year 11): Ellie Bae, Mina Kang and Jay Park.

Welcome to the new DP students - written by Ms Sharon Zhu, DP Coordinator.  I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new DP students of Year 12.

The IB Diploma Programme is a future-ready programme that builds students’ inquiring mindset, fosters their desire to learn and prepares them to excel at their careers and lead meaningful lives. It equips students for universities and life beyond by building up their critical thinking skills and research skills. An IB Diploma is recognized by over 5,000 universities in more than 100 countries.

The two years in the Diploma Programme is slow yet fast! In the blink of an eye, the Y12 will be standing on the stage graduating. We look forward to seeing the Year 12 students excel in the Diploma Programme via being balanced risk-takers who constantly challenge themselves!
