Xi’an Inter School Fall Formal 2024. “Two schools, one unforgettable night-together on the red carpet.” Last Saturday, high school students from Xi’an Hanova International School (Hanova) and Xi’an International School (XIS) were working collaboratively to come together for an unforgettable night. Held on November 23rd at W Hotel, this collaborative event promised not just the glitz and glamour of a traditional prom, but the opportunity to forge friendships and connections across campuses.
The formal officially started at 4:00pm with a check-in and a red carpet entrance by starting the night in style with a photo-worthy arrival. With some ice breaker activities such as guess the riddle, guess the song, and a group selfie, students from both schools had a fun time getting to know each other. A highlight of the prom was a music performance led by our Y11 students.
A fancy dinner included a variety of delicious dishes like salad, pasta, and an over-the-top dessert bar that featured an ice cream station. After dinner, students solved murder mysteries before getting out on the dance floor. Judges from both schools announced “academy awards” certificates for best dressed, best dancer, best communicator, best thinker, and best etiquette.
What truly set this prom apart was its ability to bring students from different schools together. Beyond the fun, the inter school prom serves a deeper purpose: building bridges between schools. The event encouraged mingling and collaboration, and by the end of the night it was clear that the goal of fostering unity had been achieved.
A special thank you to our organizers from both Hanova and XIS, especially Steven Jiang, Mina Kang, Xenne Gerrits, Bella Yoon, David Kim, and Minyu Kim, and thanks to our musical performers: Minyu, Riley, Mani, Minchan, and Jason for the live entertainment!
