MYP Personal Project Exhibition - written by Ms Amy Hou. The MYP Year 11 Personal Project represents a culminating opportunity and key assessment component for students in their final year of the Middle Years Programme, allowing them to independently showcase the research, creativity, passion, and personal interests they have developed throughout their MYP journey.
On April 17th, our Year 11 students presented an incredible range of projects at the exhibition, from website design, finance and business ventures, animation, and works of art to sports, sciences, baking, product design, and animal-related studies—each reflecting deep inquiry and dedication.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents, staff, and students who visited the exhibition and supported our young learners. Congratulations to the Year 11 class on a truly successful Personal Project exhibition!
Rethinking Idioms: Year 7 Students Create New Meanings - written by Ms Soohyun Park. Year 7 Korean Language students recently explored the meaning and use of idiomatic expressions through a critical and creative lens. Rather than simply memorizing common idioms, students were encouraged to question and reflect on the ideas behind them.
After learning a range of idiomatic expressions, students discussed whether their original meanings always reflect fair or positive perspectives. Through these discussions, they identified potential issues within certain expressions and reinterpreted them to better align with their own values and viewpoints.
Each student then created a poster presenting their reimagined idiom. Alongside their visual work, students wrote explanations outlining the original meaning, the issue they identified, their newly developed interpretation, and the visual strategies they used to communicate their ideas effectively.
To extend the impact of their learning, all student work was compiled into a class book. Completed on March 13, the book was shared with PYP Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms, where students had the opportunity to read the entries and vote for their favorite poster until early April.
Through this project, students strengthened their critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills, while also engaging meaningfully with the wider school community.
Spring Book Fair 2026: A Celebration of Stories and Joy! - written by Ms Sophie Suo. We are delighted to share the wonderful experiences from last week’s Spring Book Fair!
This year’s event was a resounding success, filled with joy, discovery, and a growing passion for reading among our students. The fair provided an extensive collection of young adult and children's books that captivated our students’ imaginations.
From gripping adventures to magical tales to encyclopedic wonders, the selections truly had something for everyone. And we are incredibly grateful for the enthusiastic participation and support from our parents and teachers—your involvement helped make this year’s book fair a truly enriching experience for our students.
By continuing to foster a fun and engaging literacy environment, we will collectively spark a deeper interest in reading among our children, now and in their future.
