On 3 June, we had our Secondary Arts Showcase & Exhibition, celebrating the creativity, dedication, and artistic growth of our students.

The event began with the Visual Arts Exhibition. Year 7 and Year 9 presented Clay Stories and Beyond The Frame, showcasing technical skill across a variety of mediums. Year 8 students explored popular culture through their exhibition Popaganda, while Year 10 /11 students displayed Light Touches Color: An Impressionist Journey, demonstrating their understanding of artistic expression inspired by the Impressionist movement.

The musical performances showcased both emerging talent and developing musicianship. The Year 7A Band opened with Zhi Wo, confidently demonstrating the skills they have developed. The Orchestra then transported the audience with an energetic performance of Jack Sparrow. Music technology and composition were also on display, with Year 8 students sharing GarageBand projects and Year 9 students presenting original film scoring compositions.

Drama and dance provided further opportunities for artistic expression. Year 9B Drama students performed Impressions, a thoughtful exploration of identity, belonging, and the impressions we leave on others. Mia from Year 7 captivated the audience with her energetic dance performance, while the Year 10 and 11 Drama students brought the afternoon to a memorable conclusion with their production of Snow White Lite, showcasing strong characterisation, creative staging, and excellent teamwork.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our performers, artists, teachers, support staff, families, and School Board members for making this event possible. The Secondary Arts Showcase & Exhibition was a wonderful reminder of the creativity, confidence, and collaboration that continue to flourish throughout the Hanova community.
