Celebrating May 2026 AP Results: AP Scholar with Honor. We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding academic achievement within the Hanova community. Y12 student Jun Changwan has been recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar with Honor, achieving an impressive average AP exam score of 4.75 out of 5.
The AP Scholar with Honor Award recognizes students who demonstrate consistently strong achievement across multiple Advanced Placement (AP) examinations. Students receiving this award must achieve an average score of at least 3.25 across all AP exams taken and earn scores of 3 or higher on four or more AP exams.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy because Hanova serves as an exam-only AP testing center and does not offer AP courses as part of our curriculum. While completing the rigorous IB Programme, Changwan independently prepared for AP examinations alongside his regular MYP Y11 studies. It reflects a willingness to extend learning beyond the formal curriculum and embrace additional academic challenges.
We are proud to see our students taking ownership of their learning and pursuing opportunities to challenge themselves beyond the classroom. We extend our warmest congratulations to our AP Scholar with Honor recipient on this well-deserved recognition and celebrate this achievement with the entire school community.
Enhancing DP Learning with Kognity. We are pleased to introduce Kognity, a new digital learning platform for students and teachers in our IB Diploma Programme (DP) from the 2026–27 academic year.
Kognity is an interactive learning platform designed specifically for the IB Diploma Programme. It provides curriculum-aligned digital textbooks alongside a wide range of interactive resources, practice questions, activities, and assessment tools. Rather than simply replacing traditional textbooks, Kognity offers students a more dynamic learning experience, allowing them to review key concepts, practice independently, receive immediate feedback, and take greater ownership of their learning.
For our teachers, Kognity provides additional resources to enrich classroom teaching and enables them to better support students’ individual learning needs and progress. It will be used alongside our existing teaching and learning resources, helping to create a more flexible and engaging DP learning environment.
The introduction of Kognity represents an important school investment in our students and their learning. By providing access to high-quality, IB-focused digital resources, we aim to further strengthen academic support for our DP students and equip them with effective tools for both classroom learning and independent study.
We look forward to seeing our students and teachers make full use of Kognity throughout the year and to the positive impact it will have on learning across the Diploma Programme.
