DofE Bronze Practice Journey: Building Strength for the Qualifying Expedition - written by Mr Sam Quan. On 13th September 2026, our Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award students successfully completed their practice adventurous journey along the Wei River, marking a significant milestone in their outdoor expedition development. This full-day training serves as crucial preparation for their official DofE Bronze Qualifying Journey, which will take place on 10th and 11th October at Beiyang Mountain.
Throughout the practice journey, students demonstrated teamwork, self-discipline, and perseverance. They encouraged one another, adjusted their walking pace, and supported each other to overcome physical fatigue. By actively communicating, following group travel discipline, and solving practical problems, students showed personal responsibility and team awareness.
During the outdoor hike, students consolidated fundamental expedition abilities, including basic navigation, route observation, and independent outdoor management. This hands-on practice enabled students to adapt to long-distance outdoor travel and accumulate valuable field experience for their upcoming expedition.
Through consistent effort and support to each other, all participants have built solid confidence, physical endurance, and practical skills. Congratulations to all participants in this first step! With strengthened resilience and richer outdoor experience, our DofE Bronze students are fully prepared to take the challenge of the two days and one night qualifying expedition and to ultimately complete their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Level Adventurous journey successfully.
