DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS AND INTERESTS THAT ENHANCE CLASSROOM LEARNING
An overview of our Extra-Curricular Activities
Hanova encourages students to become global and balanced individuals, embodying the attributes of the IB Learner profile. We thus value our students’ intellectual, physics, personal and social development, helping them to learn from everything they do.
We believe in delivering a holistic education, designed to offer opportunity for students to excel academically, in their fields of interest and that also develops skills needed in later life. All our students are then encouraged to take advantage of the extra-curricular activities available at the school, to enhance classroom learning and develop new skills or devote time to an interest.
All students are automatically enrolled in at least one extra-curricular activity activity per week. Activities are organized, delivered and supervised by Hanova Teachers and Staff, sometimes supported by parents and qualified partners. It is our goal to continue to grow our school and all our activities!
Our Extra-Curricular Activities include a balance of sporting, social and cultural arts activities:
The details of the activities may vary from year to year, however offerings will generally include:
- Coordinated by the Athletics Director
- Students are encouraged to try out for school teams and practice various sports
- Sports offered include (but not limited to) girls’ and boys’ basketball, volleyball, soccer, athletics and table tennis.
- Music and vocal activities
- Ensembles and choirs
- Drama and dance practice
- Visual arts techniques and activities
- Cultural arts and crafts
- Photography and movie clubs.
- Eco-Warriors (environmental awareness)
- Model United Nations
- Public speaking and debate clubs
- Language clubs and cultural activities
- Strategy, role-play and board games (including chess club)
- Baking and cooking
