One last week before the Spring Break holiday. We have sent you several information notices related to some changes in the school and to our initiatives. Hereafter the news about last week.
Hanova Parent Teacher Association. We are proud to inform you that we are launching our new Hanova Parent Teacher Association (HPTA). Hanova has always valued the support from parents and families, and for this reason we want to expand this relationship.
An updated constitution has been created, and we are now looking for parents, guardians and carers to become part of our brand new, dynamic and exciting HPTA, that will officially start its activities during the next months.
All parents are automatically members of our HPTA. In addition, any parent can become “Helping Member”, contributing more to the broader life of the school, by getting involved in events, activities, communications, productions and charity projects that will take place in Primary School or Secondary School or at the whole school level.
A selected number of parents and academic staff will then be elected or appointed to be part of the HPTA Committee, in charge of the overall supervision and management of our new association.
The HPTA Constitution is available on demand from the School Office, and a copy can be obtained contacting Mrs. Bi ( grace.bi@his-xian.com ). If you are then interested in being part of this new venture, in any role, please ask also the application form to provide us your information and inform us of your desired contribution, which mys again be returned to Mrs. Bi ( grace.bi@his-xian.com ).
Please join us and help us grow our school and our activities. We will organize information sessions for parents during the month of April, to explain in detail the HPTA mission, philosophy, procedures and responsibilities and all the new opportunities available to get involved in Hanova!
University Visits. On 21st March, we successfully hosted the CIS (Council of International Schools) tour with 29 universities from the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Canada.
Our students and parents had the unique chance to communicate directly with so many admission officers. We also received few visitors from the outside community including some students from Xi’an International School.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our students and parents for your attendance.
Monday, on 27th March, we will receive Mr. Jung, the Administrative Director of Global Leadership Division from Yonsei University in Korea. Mr. Jung, who is mainly responsible for recruiting international and overseas Korean students, will speak at 2:30pm in our auditorium. Yonsei University is the oldest university in Korea, established in 1885 by Christian missionaries. Its mission has been simple yet ambitious: to provide future global leaders with the highest level of interdisciplinary and international education. While the tools and content of education has changed over the past 132 years, Yonsei remains dedicated to educating students in the spirit of “Truth and Freedom,” out motto. Its 300,000 graduates are serving in both public and private sectors across the globe. Many of them are key players, setting new international standards, in their respective fields.
This event is open to the public, all interested members of our community are welcomed to join us! The presentation will be conducted mainly in Korean, but question and answers will be supported also in English, before or after the presentation.
Mr. Jung will also remain a while on our campus after his presentation, to provide individual university counseling to students and families.
On the same day (27th March), we will host also another American university, Merrimack College, visiting us in the morning at 10:00am.
If you have any inquiry about these events, please do not hesitate to contact our Univerity and Career Counselor Mrs. Zhu ( sharon.zhu@his-xian.com ).
Hanova Academies. Hanova places a significant effort on extra-curricular activities, to challenge our students and help them develop their skills and become balanced individuals and leaders.
After the surveys carried out last year and the email your received in December, we are now ready to launch the Hanova Academies starting from April 2017: Hanova Sports Academy, Hanova Music Academy, Hanova Art Academy. An email has been sent to all our families.
These academies will run as a trial during April, May and June 2017 and will be fully open to all our students from the beginning of next academic year. Supervised by our qualified teaching staff, these academies will run on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays after school, from 3:45pm until 4:30pm. Confirmed times will be given once the number of each class registered.
We have already contacted the families who have expressed their enthusiasm in our new initiatives. For any new interest, please fill your data in the link provided or register with our Marketing and Liaison Team.
