It’s great to see so many students’ achievements taking place early in this semester. What is not so easily seen are the developments taking place in terms of our school’s support of our students’ learning. As some parents may know, the school is currently undergoing two significant review procedures that will address several areas of the school.
Our IB Diploma 5 Year Review and our WASC Accreditation application will be focusing on such areas as our Languages policies (PYP, MYP and DP), our provision of English across the school, our provision of ‘mother tongue’ languages, student learning support, and our health and safety provisions.
I know that some of our parents in Primary and Secondary schools have shown interest in volunteering their support for these school issues, and I would like to invite any parent who is interested in becoming part of a review working group to drop me an email so that I can explain more.
In the meantime, I am publishing the school’s Vision, Mission and Values, which have been recently authorized by the school’s Board:
Hanova School Vision. We strive to establish Hanova as a long-standing quality educational institution.

We congratulate them all and wish them everything of the best for 2019!
Personal Projects. As you may know, this year we – the Year 11 students – have been working on our personal projects. We have projects ranging from a digital cookbook to a hand-powered phone charger. So far, we have mainly focused on our product and our process journals, and just recently handed them in on the 7th of January. We previewed many of each other’s products, and we were all excited and intrigued by them. Now, our main focus is preparing our exhibits for the Personal Project exhibition and, after that, writing our project reports.
