We hope that all of our community have had a safe and secure Chinese New Year so far and that our children are enjoying their learning experiences this semester – albeit with the ongoing COVID situation.
Year 11 Students present Personal Project Exhibition – by Ms Amy Hou, MYP Coordinator. Congratulations to Hanova’s Year 11 students! The MYP Personal Project Exhibition on 11th March was a big success for them! The Personal Project in Year 11 is an opportunity for MYP students to make something that reflects the attitude to learning that they have developed throughout the MYP. This makes the Personal Project Exhibition the culminating experience of the MYP.
In the exhibition this year, Hanova’s Year 11 students have developed various Personal Project initiatives including; video games, sleeping, climate crisis, PYP education, Library developments, architecture, and mental health. All members in our school community were invited to this exhibition to celebrate their success. Please enjoy some of the great pictures from the exhibition!

Spring and Summer of sport on the horizon – written by Mr Paul Robinson, Athletics Director. There have been exciting developments in recent weeks here at Hanova. We came back to school after Spring Festival to some of the finishing touches being put on to our sports hall facility, with the courts now bedecked in our trademark Hanova green and Hanova logo in centre. It is beginning to look like “home”.
There have also been some very recent significant developments at the back of the school. The football field has been laid down and looks absolutely fantastic. The next step after the field has been completed is for our 400m running track and field event facility to be completed.
We are becoming increasingly confident that these facilities will be ready for Primary Sports Day on Friday, 22nd April and Secondary Sports Day on Friday, 29th April. The PE team is really excited about taking our lessons outside and also widening the scope of sporting activities we are able to provide to our students moving forward.
Year 2 Space Museum field trip – written by Ms. Emma Tidmarsh, Early Years Coordinator. On 1st March, Year 2 students ventured to the Space Museum. The trip was part of the ‘tuning in’ phase of our unit of inquiry into How the world works, focusing on Earth Cycles.
The students were toured around the museum by the museum staff and they interacted with the exhibits – learning about the many planets and stars, space travel, astronauts and space suits, a very popular simulation experience and so much more!
Throughout the day the students had smiles from ear to ear. The day was a success and a great way to inspire their thinking for their continued learning.
Year 13 Mock Examination – written by Ms Sharon Zhu, DP Coordinator. The May 2022 examination is just around the corner, and this is the 6th IB examination that we are going to administer here in Hanova. To prepare and to examine our Y13 students, there was a mock examination that was held from Monday, 21st February to Thursday, 3rd March. Now the DP teachers are using the results to help Y13 students to do the final revision and preparation for the upcoming examination.
