Here are the few events that will take place on campus during this last school week of 2015. We will then close the school for the Christmas Holiday and reopen on 4th January 2016 for the new Semester.
Mr. Muntzer. We announce that our Deputy Principal of the Secondary School and IB Diploma Coordinator, Mr. Robert Muntzer, will be leaving Hanova this December. He will be taking up a new position in another international school in Malaysia. Robert has been a driving force in the development of our Hanova School, helping to obtain the Diploma Programme authorization and to join the Cambridge Schools network. We wish him and his family all the best for his next endeavor.
College Fair. Six US universities have visited Hanova on 3rd December to present their Summer Programs, showing how our students can increase their knowledge of specific subjects, gain college credits and prepare the application to selected international universities. We also thanks the parents who have attended the event organized by our University and Careers Counselor Ms. Zhu ( email@example.com ).
MYP reports. On the afternoon of 9th December there will be a MYP Parent Teacher Conference. Parents are asked to sign up via the paper signup sheet, given to all MYP students on 3rd December. After the 9th, all MYP students will receive their reports via Managebac.
PYP Christmas Performance. Teachers and students cordially invite all parents to our PYP Christmas Performance. Please book your reservation through the below link: https://jinshuju.net/f/W9U04T . Students will attend both performances and school buses will leave the school as usual on Wednesday 9th December (3:40pm). On Thursday 10th December students should stay in school until the end of the performance, thus they must be picked up by parents around 7:30pm. If there is any problem, please inform the respective Classroom Teachers.
Mathletics Hall of Fame. Mathletics.com provides online math games for educational purposes. The Mathletics Hall of Fame is a scoreboard showcasing the top-scoring students and classrooms in the U.S. and around the world. The Year 1 class, led by Ms. Ann Rava, ranked 21st in the overall ranking of the Hall of Fame, with 7 children from the class awarded with a Bronze Certificate for gaining top scores in Mathletics.
Movember. On Thursday and Friday (3rd and 4th December) this week, students voted for the best and worst hairy faces of Hanova staff members during the month of November. Our annual Movember fundraising activity earned over 2000 RMB for Elim Kids Orphanage. Congratulations go out to:
- Best Man of Movember: PYP PE teacher – Mr. Vincent Lerouvillois
- Best Woman of Movember: Nursery teacher – Ms. Stowe
- Worst Man of Movember: Year 6b teacher – Mr. Manning
- Worst Woman of Movember: University and College Counselor – Ms. Zhu
First Hanova Christmas Market. Many thanks to all of you, for your presence and contributions to Hanova’s first Christmas Market. It has been a great success, with great fun and activities, a lot of vendors in the Auditorium and a fantastic buffet divided in three stations. A big thanks again to all teachers, parents, members of staff who have invested so much effort to organize this festive time together. A special thanks you also to the Westin Xi’an and to the Gran Melia Xi’an, who have sponsored the event and donated most of the great food. All guests have especially enjoyed the Spanish food and atmosphere brought on campus by the Gran Melia staff. We will inform you of the final amount raised, which will be donated to Elim Kids Orphanage.
