Primary Winter Concerts. Primary students performed a wonderful Winter Concert this week, consisting of a musical journey through several countries to present how people celebrate Christmas around the World. The countries visited were China, Indonesia, Israel, New Zealand, Czech Republic, United States and Scotland. All students created a fantastic show, performing using instruments, dancing and acting, singing in English and also in the country’s original language. A big thank you to all Primary teachers, Primary parents and members of staff who worked hard to make this year’s concert such a success: we were all truly impressed by our students’ musical skills and their performance on stage! Enjoy the photo album from the performance.
We have completed our school days in 2016! From this week we will all enjoy the Winter Holidays.
Winter celebrations date back to ancient times, already taking place both in the old Roman and Chinese Empires. In today’s modern world we now celebrate Christmas and the arrival of 2017. In China this Festive Season will continue until Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival.
Hereafter few news related to this last week in 2016, full of events and activities preparing the Holidays. We are grateful to all teachers, students, parents and members of staff who have worked hard during the First Semester to make possible the progress of our school and most important the progress of our students.
Secondary Winter Showcase. This week, the Secondary students in Year 7 have performed twice the play “Humbug High: A Contemporary Christmas Carol” in front of parents, friends, other students and staff. This showcase, related to Christmas, was followed on Thursday by several musical performances during the final Assembly, where we have given our best wishes to all students and families and staff who will not return here for the Second Semester.
Back to School in 2017. We will meet back in school on Tuesday 3rd January 2017. Senior students will sit for mock exams during the first two weeks and all students will receive their First Semester Report on Wednesday 18th January.
Thanks again for your continuing support. Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays. On behalf of the School I wish a 2017 full of happiness, prosperity and success to all people and family in our community.
Yours,
Francesco Masetti-Placci
