On 11 December, Hanova hosted its Open Day and Winter Concert. Both events were well-attended and bear testimony to the dedication and enterprise of our school staff, and the enthusiasm of our students.
The Open Day began with coffee (from our campus coffee shop) and snacks in the school entryway. At 14:00, we welcomed all of our PYP, MYP and DP parents and students to tour the new campus view student art exhibits and sit in on workshops, lessons, science experiments and performances in both the Primary and Secondary schools. These activities and workshops were facilitated by Hanova’s teachers and designed to give the Hanova community a glimpse of the education our students receive each day in school!
The workshops included student participation and a variety of school subjects – PE, Art, Drama, Maths, Sciences, History and Humanities, Chinese language, Library and Early Years activities and yoga.
After the Open Day workshops, our parents and visitors gathered in Hanova’s New Campus Assembly Hall to attend the Winter Concert 2021! The performance featured all of the school’s students from Nursery through Year 13 singing, dancing and playing instruments – all of which filled the Hall with sounds of the holiday season!
At the end of the afternoon, our MYP students performed a modern and humorous take on the classic holiday story “A Christmas Carol.” Beyond all the laughs, the drama was a welcome reminder that the people in our lives are much more important than profit, power and prestige.
Overall, the day was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy our school community. We would like to thank and pay tribute to the efforts of our staff and students, and gratitude to our parents who helped make these events a success.
