Friday 13th May was the turn of the Secondary school to take part in Sports Day. After a whole week of expecting rain we were blessed with perfect weather conditions throughout the day. Students competed in a number of track and field events as well as basketball, dodgeball and tug o’war with points going towards the Secondary Sports Day house shield.
After a day of events there was time for the student forum to organize a “water fight” for the students which was great fun and the perfect ending to what was a great day for all involved.
At the end of the sports day Tang house was victorious; however there were also some outstanding individual performances with Tong Wang from Year 9 recording 12.1 seconds for the 100m and Peixin Lin (Year 7) jumping a staggering 1.6m in the high jump while Lucas Rice cleared 1.75m in the high school high jump.
The Middle School Male and Female Athletes of the Year were Tony Wang (Y9) and Jacqueline Zhang (Y7), while the High School Male and Female Athletes of the Year were Vincent Gibbs (Y12) and Alicia Chan (Y11).
